Tips 1. A good computer word processor is must! You will need to cut & paste, draft pleadings, and attach files to emails. It is best to use .wps, .doc., .dox, .rtf files for draft pleadings. The .pdf files are good for reviewing court orders and documents that will not be changed by you.

2. You will need to dedicate TIME to your case, typing, drafting, emailing, questions. TIMING is everything in the courts! There is a specific time limit for everything you do - time to answer a complaint, file a motion or opposition, file a reply, etc. If you don't respond timely, Silence Is Admission In A Court of Law!

3. READ, READ, READ! Educate yourself by reading everything about your case, all court pleadings and documents, court rules, and precedent court cases.

4. Have patience. Nothing is done over night with the courts.
